Empowering Student Through Peer Education: Addressing Irregular Migration and Human Trafficking

Young people from formal educational settings are taking a stand against irregular migration and human trafficking by becoming peer educators. In an innovative initiative, these young-led discussions aim to address the challenges surrounding these critical issues by engaging their peers in open, honest conversations. Equipped with a comprehensive manual, peer educators employ techniques that blend peer education with life skills training, covering topics such as irregular migration, trafficking in persons, and migrant smuggling.

The Giving Is Healing Foundation (GIHF) has aligned itself with organizations like the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), and the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), alongside other key stakeholders, to champion humane and orderly migration.

Peer education is an approach that leverages the influence of group dynamics to drive change, fostering individual transformation through shifts in knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors.
