Promoting Dignity and Well-Being for Our Elders
At the Giving Is Healing Foundation, we believe that elderly care is a cornerstone of our Community Development Efforts program. We understand that old age is a critical stage of life where special care and attention are essential for maintaining health and well-being, free from worries and anxiety.
Our ÌLERA ÈKÓ Health Care Scheme, in partnership with the Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA), exemplifies our proactive approach to supporting elderly residents, particularly in Majidun, Ikorodu, Lagos State. This initiative has provided ten individuals aged 65 and above with a one-year paid health service, addressing vital health needs such as blood pressure, heart conditions, diabetes, and arthritis. By ensuring they have uninterrupted access to quality healthcare, we aim to improve their overall well-being and alleviate health-related concerns common among older adults.
We recognize that elderly individuals seek not only good health but also dignity and economic independence. Emotional support, care, love, and affection are crucial for their happiness and well-being. By engaging with elders and addressing their unique needs, we provide tailored support that enhances their physical health while nurturing their mental and emotional resilience.
