World Day Against Trafficking in Persons 2026: Our Commitment to Migration Protection
World Day Against Trafficking in Persons was commemorated on 30 July 2026, with Giving Is Healing Foundation joining the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), civil society organizations, and other partners in Lagos for a public road walk to raise awareness about the dangers of human trafficking and promote safe migration.
The road walk brought together government agencies, civil society organizations, volunteers, and community members in a collective effort to educate the public on the realities of human trafficking and encourage people to make informed migration decisions.
The 2026 global theme, “Trapped by Behind the Scam,” draws attention to the deceptive methods traffickers use to exploit vulnerable people through false promises of employment, education, travel opportunities, and a better life. The theme underscores the need for governments, organizations, communities, and individuals to expose these fraudulent schemes, strengthen prevention efforts, and protect those at risk of exploitation.

Migration Protection remains one of the core thematic areas of Giving Is Healing Foundation.
